Eddy Current Inspection

EDDY CURRENT INSPECTION SERVICES

PWHT Solutions provides Eddy Current Inspection (ECI) for suitable electrically conductive components. This non-destructive testing method uses an electromagnetic probe to detect changes in the material that may indicate cracking, corrosion, wear, or other discontinuities.

Eddy Current Inspection is particularly useful for examining heat exchanger and condenser tubes. Depending on the component and inspection objective, it can also be used to assess accessible metal surfaces. The probe, technique, and evaluation criteria are selected according to the material and agreed inspection procedure.

Our Eddy Current Inspection Services Include

Inspection of non-ferromagnetic heat exchanger tubes

Condenser and chiller tube inspection

Detection and assessment of tube wall loss and pitting

Screening for indications near tube supports and tube sheets

Inspection of suitable metal surfaces for surface-breaking cracks

Recording and evaluation of inspection signals

Reporting of tube or component findings for maintenance planning
